2023 loading: Atiku promises inclusive government of national unity, if elected - ITREALMS

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has revealed plans to run an inclusive government of national unity, if elected next year, reports

Speaking at Editors' Forum hosted by the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) in Lagos on Wednesday, Atiku who commended the guild for making efforts at ensuring that the meeting held, noted that media roles in democratic restoration cannot be over-emphasised.

PDP, he said, will form a government of national unity as one of the ways to unify the country following his five-point agenda.

As said by him, today, Nigeria has about 17 heads of security agencies from the north.
"I would not do that," he declared.

In addition, he disclosed that women should anticipate 30 per cent share of the governemnt as part of the efforts at inclusivity.

Atiku equally said that the current crisis in PDP is being handled as a family matter.

Also disclosed that his government on assumption of office would commence liberalisation of the economy and empowering the private sector the more.

This, he said, would afford the private sector to play their roles adequately and unleash their potentials thereby creating more jobs and stabilise the economy.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was accompanied at the meeting with NGE by the chairman of the PDP Campaign Organisation and Governor of Akwa-Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel and his counterpart from Sokoto and Director-General of the Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Aminu Tabuwal, High Chief Raymond Dopkesi, PDP Senatorial candidate in Kogi State, Dr. Victor Adoji, former governor of Cross River, Chief Liyel Imoke, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and formidable women group among others.

They were received by the President of NGE, Mustapha Isa-led National Steering Committee.
