According to CTO, Digital Week 2023 would commence on February 20 through 24 in London, United Kingdom on face to face.
ITREALMS gathered that this follows the recovery of the world from the deleterious effects of the COVID-19 pandemic that created an environment of uncertainty and forced organisations to evaluate their purpose and adjust their operations to ensure their survival.
“The CTO is emerging from this tumultuous period and is on a new course to enhance its value to members by having a measurable impact in the Commonwealth,” source said.
The CTO, ITREALMS also gathered, has concluded to host a week of face-to-face ICT events from 20–24 February 2023, in London, United Kingdom, to reconnect with all its members, Commonwealth ICT and Telecommunications Ministers and stakeholders in the ICT and Energy industries.
ITREALMS further gathered that some of the activities planned for the preceding week and Digital Week a session for the Executive Committee on 17 February, 2023, followed by CTO Forum on 20th, while Ministerial Alliance for Digital Nations on 21–22 February 2023 and 60th Council session on 23–24 February 2023.
In addition, ITREALMS gathered that the Executive Committee is expected to review recommendations for consideration of the Council concerning the CTO’s strategies and policies; consider Foundational documents of the CTO, the Strategic Plan, draft Budget, workplan, Annual Report and business plans prior to submission of the Council. This meeting is open to Executive Committee members only.
For the CTO Forum, ITREALMS additionally learnt is open to all CTO members and ICT stakeholders, thereby the Forum provides an opportunity for ICT Sector Members to contribute ideas and discuss issues with representatives of full member countries and other members and to prepare advice for the Council.
The Ministerial alliance, will bring together Commonwealth Ministers responsible for telecommunications, and information and communication technologies (ICT) to address ICT issues for Commonwealth transformation. This inaugural event will focus on affordable universal broadband connectivity, an essential aspect of any digital transformation programme.
While the 60th Council session is open to representatives of full member countries and other CTO members, the 60th Council will determine the broad policies and strategies of the CTO; examine and approve the CTO’s business plan, the Annual Report and, in the light of that Report, adopt any decisions it considers appropriate; Consider and approve the strategic plan, work plan and budget for the next year. The Council will also elect the members of the CTO’s Governing bodies.
