The Supreme Knight of the Order of Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria, Sir Charles Mbelede, has charged members to look beyond the situation of the country and ensure they provide succour for the poor in the society, reports
ITREALMS.
Supreme Knight of the Order of Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria, Sir Charles Mbelede
Sir Mbelede in his 2022 Christmas message available to ITREALMS, noted that as Christians and knights of the church, KSM members should look beyond the very stressful and frustrating situations in the country.

“… Manifested in poverty, kidnapping, mindless killings of defenceless Nigerians and other deprivations to reach out and spread the good news to the poor, the vulnerable and the needy by providing succor to alleviate their plights,” he charged.

While wishing members merry Christmas and prosperous New Year, on behalf of the Supreme Executive Board, Mbelede quoted John 3 verse 6 to buttress his call.

Christmas, he said, brings with it, a new freshness, renewed hope and a new strength, anchored on the Christo-centric ideals of love of God and love of neighbours.

“It is therefore a time to reflect on the deeper meanings of the words contained in (John 3 Vs. 6) ‘for God so loved the world, that He gave us, His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, will not perish, but have eternal life,’’’ Mbelede said.

In addition, the Supreme Knight stressed that more than any other time, “we are encouraged to reach out to the millions of Nigerians in the various Internally Displaced Camps, worsened by the recent flooding disasters in the country.

“It is also time for us to remember our brothers and sisters in the flash point of Jos Metropolitan Council in the North East Zone, where the Order’s activities have remained comatose and reach out to them, wherever they maybe and re-assure them of our love and genuine concerns for their plight.

As said by Mbelede, KSM positions on how the Nigerian government should imaginatively tackle these humanitarian crises, were succinctly articulated at the KSM Supreme Council Convention in Abuja, last November and captured in the communique issued at the end of the Convention.

The yuletide season, he also said, calls for effusive expression of love, manifested in Charity and generous giving. I enjoin you all to endeavour to reach out in concrete terms to the needy within and outside the Order. specially to the poor neighbors and relatives and make the Christmas celebration worth the while for them.

“That is perhaps one way to emulate Jesus Christ whose birthday anniversary we celebrate,” he said.

Further, the Supreme Knight enjoined members to demonstrate a true spirit of Christmas by giving hope and spreading love to humanity through generous acts of charity this season.
