The 2023 Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Mr. Omoyele Sowore has declared that the stamp duty scam is the biggest financial scam in recent times, reports ITREALMS.
Sowore who was reacting to the alleged stamp duty fraud worth N89 trillion, about ($200.1 billion) by a member of the House of Representatives, Gudaji Kazaure, said its a mega scam under the leadership of the President of Nigeria, General Mohammadu Buhari, retired.
"The STAMP DUTY MEGA SCAM! What N89 Trillion ($200.1 Billion) could buy for Nigeria!
#WeCantContinueLikeThis," he tweeted on Tuesday @YeleSowore handle.
Sowore, also accused the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele as the masterminder of this fraud.
The AAC presidential candidate, outlined some five major items the N89 trillion could do or buy for Nigeria.
These, Sowore said include servicing of national debut with N42.84 trillion, resolving ASUU request with $2.9 billion, building road infrastructure worth 373,949.58 kilometres; building of 1.1 million schools of global standard with $180,000 and building of some 3.3 000,000 hospitals of global stnadards with a vote of about $60,000,000.
A federal lawmaker in the green chambers, Alhaji Gudaji Kazaure from Jigawa State, in a recent interview with PremiumTimes Tv, revealed the scam on the stamp duty process worth N89 trillion.
However reacting to this revelation, Sowore said the state has confirmed what "we've always known," that CBN Governor, Emefiele has diverted over N89 trillion Stamp Duty largesse between himself and big banks.
"... Where he got it wrong is praising the mannequin in Aso Rock @MBuhari," Sowore said.
Also in a related tweet, Sowore tagged "THE STAMP DUTY MONSTROUS SCAM OF THE Muhammadu Buhari REGIME" described the alleged scam as most likely Nigeria’s biggest financial scam in recent times.
"It was perpetrated by the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele and President Muhammadu Buhari and his cronies," he alleged.
This may sound unbelievable, Sowore attached the video of the lawmaker who investigated the scam, Gudaji Kazaure, and revealed that Emefiele was arrested by the DSS but granted bail because he claimed he was having “heart issues.”
