The Federal Government (FG) has flagged off cash grants for vulnerable people in Anambra State, reports ITREALMS.The event which held at the late Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre in Awka, the state capital was in conjunction with the Anambra State government and is known as conditional cash transfer grants was meant for vulnerable indigenes of the state.
Also flagged off were the FG categories of loans ranging from market moni, traders moni to farmers moni, just as some working tools were equally distributed to workers of the state Ministry of Humanitarian affairs, Disaster management and Social Development.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, who was represented by a deputy director, Mr. Anaelo Charles Nwanelo, who led the Abuja delegation to Awka for event which last over a week, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation the state government accorded his team and urged the state government to do more in terms of moving a good number of the population from poverty.
He also assured the state for more Federal Government support.
The event was graced by top government officials, civil society groups, traditional rulers and beneficiaries.
