The Alor People's Convention (APC) has applauded the election of Emma Ojukwu-led executive, reports ITREALMS.
APC in a press statement at the weekend endorsed by its Public Relstions Officer (PRO), Nze Udoagwa Mc and made available to ITREALMS applauded the election and efforts of newly-elected President-General of Alor Community, High Chief Emmanuel Ojukwu.
APC also commended the commitment of the Anambra State government through the office of the Hon Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, in ensuring a smooth and peaceful election into various offices of the town union government.
The group also commended the good people of Alor for their patience, cool headedness, and understanding throughout the election processes despite frayed nerves.
The Convention gave kudos to the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) members and sacrifices of well-meaning people of Alor, more especially High Chief Uzoma Igbonwa (Okife Alor) who remained the hero of this success story.
The group said they are aware of concerns raised regarding the posts of the Vice President and Secretary-General and assured the general public that justice will be done to those offices after due consultations.
"People of Alor are enjoined to eschew the bitterness and divisiveness of the past years and join hands with the new government of Alor to chat a new positive route for the good of Alor Community.
"Individuals or groups that operate social media platforms where hate posts and comments are made against each other are advised to either close or convert such platforms to more productive ones," he said.
APC recalled that election into town union government is different from issues relating to "our Traditional Stool which has been decided by the High Court of Anambra State, and is before the Appeal Court."
