Confirmed! 93,469,008 registered voters to elect President, NASS members - ITREALMS

A total of 93,469,008 registered voters are expected to vote at the fast-coming 2023 general elections in Nigeria, reports ITREALMS.

Disclosing this Tuesday at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, said that they expect some 93,469,008 registered voters to participate in electing a President, 28 State Governors and 1,462 legislators (109 Senators, 360 members of House of Representatives and 993 members of State Houses of Assembly).


The Commission is mobilising about 100,000 vehicles and 4,000 boats for the deployment of personnel and materials to 176,846 polling units spread across 8,809 Registration Areas (or electoral Wards) in 774 Local Government Areas nationwide.


Meanwhile, INEC has appealed to the leadership of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) to ensure supply of petroleum products to facilitate the movement of of men and materials during the election days for the 2023 general elections.




Speaking on Tuesday at joint management meeting with the leadership of Nigerian National Petroleum Company, the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, said that it has become necessary to mobilise every national institution to give Nigerians a pleasant experience on the 2023 election days.


ITREALMS recalls that INEC has scheduled two-phased election as part of the 2023 general elections; while the presidential and national assembly elections have been slated for February 25, 2023, the governorship and state assembly elections is scheduled for March 11, 2023.
