ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!
The Nigerian president, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired, has assented to the National Action Plan III sent to his office in last quarter of 2022, reports ITREALMS.
The assented copy of the 77-page NAP III, ITREALMS gathered, has since been received by the Open Government Partnership (OGP) global secretariat.
Confirming this to ITREALMS, Civil Society Adviser to the OGP Nigeria, Uchenna Arisukwu, informed that the NAP III was co-created by state and non-state actors through a public consultation process.
The process, he said, was concluded in the last quarter of 2022 and transmitted to the President for assent.
"I am happy to inform you that that document has been assented to by the President and forwarded to the OGP Global Secretariat," he said.
With this development, Arisukwu said, Nigeria now has a formal NAP III to implement from January 2023 to December 2024.
As a follow up, he revealed, that the OGP Secretariat is planning an elaborate public presentation of the NAP document and the OGP website to partners, funders and friends of OGP in Nigeria as a way of formally kickstarting the implementation.
"Congrats to us all!" he declared.
