The presidency has nominated some four distinguished Nigerians into the board of the Universal Service Provision (USP) in the country, reports ITREALMS.
The nominees, ITREALMS gathered include Ms. Funke Opeke, Mr. Ahmed Abubakar Walama, Mrs. Fatima and Engr. Gbenga Adebayo.
ITREALMS also gathered that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired, sent these names in a letter read by the Senate Leader, Senator Abdullahi Gobir at the floors of the red chambers on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
According to him, the Senate received nominations of Engr. Adebayo, Engr. Opeke, Mr. Walama and Mrs Fatima as members of USP Board.
Also, the Senate on Wednesday confirmed receipt of a request from President Muhammadu Buhari on the nomination for appointment of four (4) persons as Members of Universal Service Provision (USP) Board aforementioned.
Senator Gobir prayed the chamber to refer this request by Mr. President to the appropriate committee.
The Executive letter from the Presidency was later referred to Senate Committee on Communications by the Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, for further legislative actions and to revert within 7 days.
