Penpushing set for 5th anniversary lecture, inaugurates planning committee - ITREALMS

The management and editorial board of Penpushing Media has inaugurated adhoc-committee for the planning and arrangement of its 5th annual anniversary lecture, scheduled to hold in July 2023.

A statement by the board chairman, Funke Fadugba said the committee members include: Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi (Chairperson), Sina Adefolahan (Secretary), Gbenga Onayiga(member), Dr Adewunmi Alayaki(member), Doyin Lasisi(member), Hon Remmy Hazzan(member), Toyin Ogunbomehin(member) and Yemisi Fadairo(representing the board).


The management and editorial board while inaugurating the committee said it had no doubt that as key members of the group, and with their individual pedigree, they were competently able to, organize a befitting and memorable event.

‘We have no doubt that as key members of the group and with your individual pedigree, you are competently able to not only organize a memorable event, but will raise the standard of the annual event. Congratulations’, the board stated.

It is on records that the maiden edition had, late Prof Oye Ibidapo-Obe, former Vice-chancellor, University of Lagos (UNILAG) as the Guest Lecturer, who spoke on ,“Building Parameters for Trust to Achieve Political and National Growth”.

The second anniversary lecture had the Country Director, United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Mr Ronald Kayanja, as Guest lecturer who spoke on, ‘The Media and the Quest for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.’

In similar vein, the third edition had Prof Yemisi Obilade, former Vice Chancellor Tai Solarin University of Education(TASUED), as Guest lecturer who spoke on the theme, ’The Nigerian State, Political Evolution, And Multi-Party Democracy: Education to the Rescue.”

The fourth edition also had Dr Chichi Aniagolu, Regional Director for West Africa, Ford Foundation as guest lecturer who spoke on the topic, ‘Social Media Regulation: Insecurity and Elections Accountability in Nigeria”.

The Chairperson of the committee in her accepting the task alongside other members pledged their commitment towards organising a befitting and memorable lecture, adding that they will not fail in their responsibilities while indicating that work has commenced on preparations for the annual event.

The Committee Chairperson also thanked management and editorial board of Penpushing media, for considering the team worthy for the assignment, adding that it is no more news that the organization is a household name globally in the media industry, and known for its commitment in dissemination of authentic news across the world.

“We want to appreciate management and editorial board for this honour to serve, and we also want to express appreciation to all stakeholders and members on Penpushing platform across the globe, particularly our elders and leaders on the platform. As a committee, we shall do our utmost best and not disappoint. The Penpushing has been able to unite us, and we owe it a duty to perform creditably well. God on our side, we shall have a memorable event”, Akiyode-Afolabi said
