Akuluno: Soludo plans Anambra Investment Summit in Sept. – ITREALMS

The Anambra State government has advanced plans to host a two-day maiden investment summit under the current administration in September, reports ITREALMS.

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, disclosed this at a Town Hall meeting with Ndi Anambra residents in Lagos on Thursday night at the Collanades Hotel, Ikoyi-Lagos.
The town hall meeting with the theme “The Road to a Livable and Prosperous Homeland” was chaired by Barr. Dr. Charles Odunukwe.

Soludo also said that he empathized with Ndigbo and Ndi Anambra particular over the incessant threats and destruction of landed properties in some states of the federation.

He urged them to think about their homeland, stressing that things are looking up, especially in Anambra State.

As said by Soludo, the Anambra Investment Summit has been slated for September 7 to 8 with high expectations to close deals and signing relevant Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs).

He assured Ndi Anambra that his administration is doing everything possible to ensure that the homeland is livable, pointing out that the homeland cannot be prosperous without the full involvement of the citizens mostly who are renowned business men and women.

Describing those with investments outside their home land as economic refugees and beckoned on them to think home earnestly.

Prof. Soludo urged Ndi Anambra to join his administration in working towards ensuring that “Anambra becomes an investment destination.”

At inception of his administration, Gov. Soludo noted that about 9 local government areas were overran by hoodlums, which have since been taken back by the joint security team in the state.

Maintaining that making Anambra State the economic hub in the South East is work in progress that deserves collaboration of stakeholders and Ndi Anambra particularly.

A good number of Ndi Anambra residents in Lagos were in attendance including but not limited to the President, Association of Anambra State Development Unions (AASDU Lagos), Chief Amechi Ebeledike, the immediate past president, Barr. Vin Osakwe; Chief Benard Chidebe and Remmy Nweke, Esq, both of Awba-Ofemili Development Union (ADU Lagos); HRH Igwe Obinna Ezenwa of Umuomaku Kingdom, Chief Peter Umeh, Eze Ndigbo Mushin-Lagos; and seasoned engineer cum technocrat from Amawbia, Chief Ben Akah and Engr. Tony Nworah.

Also in attendance were the leadership of Soludo Support Group (SSG), Chief Amechi Okeke and Nze Basil Osuokwu, Chief Chris Eze as well as the former Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Ernest Ndukwe and HRH Obu Nanka of Nanka, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo, Anambra State Women Association Lagos (ASWAL) and Umuada Anambra; among other prominent Ndi Anambra.

Mr. Governor was accompanied to the Town Hall Meeting by a delegation led by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Osita Chukwulobelu, comprising commissioners and special advisers on various sectors of the economy as well as the Managing Director, Anambra ICT Agency, Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata and the SA Anambra Liaison Office in Lagos, Barr. Leo Chiegboka among others.
