The Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) has elected Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu as its 15th President, reports ITREALMS.
Dr. Aliyu, ITREALMS gathered, emerged unopposed and is the first candidate from the Northern part of the country to be elected as President of the 45-year-old body.
NCS prides itself as the largest umbrella organization of all Information Technology (IT) professionals, interest groups and stakeholders in Nigeria.
Formed in 1978 as Computer Association of Nigeria (COAN); and transformed into NCS in 2002 as a result of harmonization with other stakeholder and interest groups, NCS equally serves as the national platform for the advancement of Information Technology Science and Practice in Nigeria.
Prior to his election, Dr. Aliyu was the deputy president of NCS.
In addition, Dr. Charles Onyeukwu, has been elected the Deputy President of NCS. He is the immediate past Chairman, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of NCS among others.
Further, the elections held at the Event Place, Murtala Mohammed Way, Bauchi on Tuesday August 8 to Thursday, August 10, 2023, tagged 'Communications and e-Systems for Economic Stability (CeSES 2023).'
