Sirajo sworn-in, takes over @NCS secretariat as 15th president - ITREALMS

The newly elected National President of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) Dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu, has taken over after being sworn in as the 15th president, reports ITREALMS.

Sirajo took over from the immediate past president, Prof. Adesina Sodiya whom he served with as deputy president, at the national secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja-Lagos, recently after a brief ceremony including the exchange of handover note and swearing in.

ITREALMS gathered that the new National Executive Council (NEC) of NCS was part of activities at the society 2023 International conference with the theme: “Communications and e-Systems for Economic Stability (CeSES 2023)” held last month in Bauchi.

In his acceptance speech after the swearing in, Dr. Sirajo Aliyu pledged the new executive council will take Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to the grassroots as no organisation or nation can thrive without inclusiveness embodied in the grassroot.

Sirajo, who was accompanied by the new Deputy President of NCS, Dr. Charles Onyeukwu, the Executive Secretary, Mr. Adesegun Adekunle among the members of the NEC, also pledged to elevate Information Technology (IT) precisely to the top gear in the country in efforts at achieving broad national development.

ITREALMS recalls that NCS, the umbrella organization of all IT professionals, interest groups and stakeholders in Nigeria was formed in 1978 as Computer Association of Nigeria (COAN); and transmuted into NCS in 2002 as a result of harmonization with other stakeholder and interest groups.
