The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has congratulated Mr. Olufemi Oladapo Soneye on his appointment as the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), reports ITREALMS.GOCOP also congratulated its pioneer president, Dr. Malachy Agbo who was recently sworn in by the Governor of Enugu State, Mr. Peter Mbah as Commissioner for Human Development and Poverty Eradication.
Reacting to these developments, president of GOCOP and publisher of RealNews, Maureen Chigbo, applauded the appointments and enjoined them to remain good ambassadors of GOCOP while counting on the Guild for maximum support.
A press statement by GOCOP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Remmy Nweke, quoted Chigbo as recalling that another high-ranking GOCOP member, Malam Rasheed Olawale of Sahel Standard, was recently appointed as the spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, while Mr. Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim of August24news was also appointed Special Adviser on Digital Communications to the Lagos Island Council chairman.
Additionally, GOCOP President noted that until his appointment, Mr. Soneye was of Per Second News and Dr. Agbo was of The Citizens.
She wished all the political appointees who are members of GOCOP in their new role, reiterating the Guild readiness to support and partner with them to ensure they deliver on their mandates from their principals.
Further, Nweke recollected that in 2019, Dr. Malachy Agbo was elected the chairman of Igbo Etiti Local Government Area (LGA) where he served as an appointed Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the same Local Government Area and prior to serving in the LGA, Agbo was the founding President of GOCOP among other roles.
On the other hand, Mr. Soneye’s appointment was confirmed by management of the national oil company in a statement on its X handle on Wednesday

GOCOP, a registered non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit organisation, comprises owners of online publications and few days ago concluded its annual national conference at Abuja Continental under the chairmanship of Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), while the first Nigerian professor of Capital Market, Prof. Uchenna Joseph Uwaleke of Nasarawa State University Keffi, delivered the keynote.
