The Chief Executive Officer of a Lagos-based Global Infoswift Limited, Mr. Afolabi Oke has been appointed Ambassador of the African Union 6th Region (AU6R) cum the Economic Community of Africa Sixth Region (ECASR) to Nigeria and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), reports ITREALMS.
A letter of appointment to Ambassador Oke by the Chairman, AU6RG and Policy Officer Diaspora who doubles as the Focal Point African Union Commission Citizens and Diaspora Directorate for the Americas (AUC-CIDO), Dr. Onyekachi Macaulay O. Kalu and available to ITREALMS, stated in part that he was excited to communicate the appointment to Oke.
The letter dated December 19, ITREALMS gathered that Ambassador Oke’s role was a testament of his exceptional qualifications and unwavering commitment to the mission and vision of AU6ECASR.
According to Dr. Kalu, the decision was grounded in resounding endorsements highlighting Ambassador Oke’s remarkable contributions within the financial and economic arena, as well as dedicated involvement in corporate social responsibility.
“… All of which significantly contribute to the betterment of society. Your extensive qualifications make you eminently well-suited for leadership within AU6R/ECASR, meeting all prerequisites for the position,” he said.
Kalu also said that as Ambassador, Oke’s will play a crucial role in overseeing the mission and vision of AU6R/ECASR by fostering diplomatic relations with the government of Nigeria and ECOWAS, stressing that his responsibilities extend to engaging with civil society organizations and the private sectors in Nigeria and ECOWAS.
“Your mandate is to strengthen the socio-economic relationship between your designated region and the global African Diaspora community, in alignment with the directives of AU6R/ECSAR mandates, with its office headquartered in Toronto, Canada,” Kalu said, pointing out that Oke’s leadership and expertise will be instrumental in advancing the mission and mandate of AU6R/ECSAR.
Equally, he expressed confidence in Ambassador Oke’s ability to make a substantial impact.
“Ambassador Oke, your appointment marks a significant milestone, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing the positive impact you will make during your tenure,” Kalu said and commended Oke for his unwavering dedication to shared goals.
