The African Fertilizer and Agribusiness Partnership (AFAP) has appointed Nigerian corporate legal expert, Dr. Adesegun A. Akin-Olugbade to the AFAP Board of Trustees, reports ITREALMS.Dr. Akin-Olugbade, ITREALMS gathered, brings with him a wealth of expertise and experience in the legal and financial sectors, spanning over three decades.
According to his profile available to ITREALMS, Dr. Akin-Olugbade's journey began with an LL.B. (Honours) Degree from King’s College London, followed by admission to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor & Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. His commitment to excellence earned him prestigious accolades such as the Judge Taslim Elias Prize for Best Overall Student and the 1st Prize in Law of Evidence during his legal studies.
Driven by his passion for knowledge, Dr. Akin-Olugbade pursued further studies, obtaining an LL.M. degree in International Finance and Corporate Law from King’s College London, and a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree from Harvard Law School. His doctoral research focused on region-wide banking feasibility in West Africa, showcasing his dedication to advancing legal scholarship.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Akin-Olugbade has held key positions at renowned institutions such as Arnold & Porter, the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), and the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC). His roles have encompassed providing legal guidance for international capital market operations, overseeing legal functions, and structuring innovative finance products.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Akin-Olugbade founded LUWAJI Nominees in 2019, offering Company Secretarial, Regulatory Compliance, and Advisory Services. He also serves as Of Counsel at Clifford Chance and as an International Counsel at Aelex.
His extensive experience, leadership acumen, and dedication to scholarship make Dr. Akin-Olugbade a valuable addition to the AFAP Board of Trustees.
