The Super Eagles of Nigeria, on Wednesday evening scaled over Bafana Bafana of South Africa to the finals at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire 2023, reports ITREALMS.The match monitored by ITREALMS crew saw the Super Eagles scoring first in the first half before Bafana Bafana equalised.
At the end of the full 90 minutes and extra time, both teams ended up 1-1, thus leading to penalty shoot-out.
ITREALMS reports that Kelechi Iheanacho scored the last penalty, while Ola Aina was the only Nigerian who missed his kick.
Noteworthy is that Super Eagles captain of the match at the Stade Bouaké in Bouaké, Cote d’Ivoire, William Troost-Ekong, from the penalty spot scored the first goal.
Whereas South Africa equally converted its penalty kick after a Super Eagle player was reportedly fouled within the 18 yards.
