The Anambra State government has warned land grabbers to stay clear of the Salvation Layout, Nkonko Mgbakwu in Awka-North Local Government Area, reports ITREALMS.
Part of the statement by Director of Lands, C.F.Obih on Saturday informed that it has come to the attention of the State Government and Ministry of Lands that some unscrupulous persons have continued to deceive unsuspecting members of the public to purchase parcels of land within Salvation Layout, Nkonko Mgbakwu in Awka North Local Government Area.
Obih also revealed that some group of persons have entered and started clearing the land within same Salvation Layout, Mgbakwu.
“Note that this land was duly acquired by the State Government and all necessary processes of acquisition were followed,” Obih said.
The state government, therefore advised the general public to henceforth desist from entering, clearing and engaging in any such dealings and transactions.
“Anyone engaging in such illegal activities within the Salvation Layout, Nkonko Mgbakwu does so at his/her own risk. The State Government will recover every inch of land illegally entered or encroached upon within the said Layout.
“The Ministry frowns at such illegal activities and will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anyone caught in the act. To be forewarned is to be forearmed,” Obih warned.
