Following the death of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, the Access Holdings Plc has named an Executive Director, Bolaji Agbede as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the organization, reports ITREALMS.
Until his death last Friday in a Chopper crash at United States, Wigwe was the former GCEO of Access Holdings.
ITREALMS gathered from a press statment by Access Holdings that Bolaji nomination was part of the decisions on February 12 by the board of directors.
Part of the statement read: “Further to its announcement dated February 11, 2024, the Board of Directors of Access Holdings Plc (‘the Company’) has today announced the appointment of Ms Bolaji Agbede as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of the Company following the unfortunate demise of its former Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr Herbert Wigwe, on February 9, 2024.”
ITREALMS equally gathered that prior to her latest appointment, Ms. Agbede was the most senior founding executive director in charge of business support in the company.
Also she will take the helm of the affairs of Access Holdings Plc subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria.
This transition marks a significant point in the company’s history as it navigates the challenges of sudden leadership change.
