These leaders comprised past and present political leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) as well as Elder Statesmen, Community Leaders, Youth and Women Leaders of the area.

They made their position known over the weekend, at Ngo, the headquarters of the council during a solidarity visit to the council's chairman.

They also commended former governor Nyesom Wike in his commitment to the actualisation of the renewed hope agenda of the President Tinubu-led administration.

The leaders and stakeholders comprised of past and present political leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party (LP) as well as Elder Statesmen, Community Leaders, Youth and Women Leaders of the area.

According to them, their resolve to remain loyal to Nyesom Wike was in appreciation of his support for Erastus Awortu in the 2021 Local Government Chairmanship election.

One of them, Mrs Mabel Ogolo, National Women Leader of the GrassRoots Development Initiative (GDI) noted that by the help of God and political inspiration, Wike during his tenure spotted Erastus Awortu to rescue Andoni.

"Indeed, the choice was right because within weeks into his administration, Andoni became so peaceful and free from the challenges of insecurity and underdevelopment which bedeviled the area," she said.

Mr Sampson Ngerebara, also a prominent APC chieftain and governorship aspirant in the 2023 general election described Awortu's administration as a fulfillment of an Andoni of his dream where the people's resources were channeled at rebuilding infrastructure and human capacity.

In his response, the council Chairman, Awortu thanked the leaders for their continued support irrespective of political crisis in the state while also commending their loyalty to the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

The chairman also pledged commitment to the growth and development of the area adding that he will rather give up his second term bid than work with politicians whose actions in the past truncated the peace and development of the area.
