The All Progressive Congress (APC)-led Federal Government head by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has declared it accelerated diversification of the economy through youth-driven industrialization, digitisation and innovation, reports ITREALMS. An Executive Summary of the Tinubu administration available to ITREALMS, said they have also inspired confidence and trust with 8-point agenda.
By recognising the youth as invaluable assets, the administration said, it has launched initiatives like the Three Million Technical Talent Initiative and the iDICE Programme to empower young Nigerians with digital skills.
Others like the National Job Centre and the National Talent Programme, presidency sources informed ITREALMS were aimed at creating employment opportunities and supporting youth-owned enterprises.
The APC-led federal government also said President Tinubu implemented bold reforms in the last 365 days to stabilise the economy.
Stressing the withdrawal of the unsustainable fuel subsidy and the unification of the Foreign Exchange (FOREX) market as pivotal steps, just as they claimed to have redirected funds to critical sectors namely healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
“These measures have reduced petrol importation by 50% and boosted investor confidence, making the Nigerian Stock Exchange the top-performing bourse globally.”
The government equally said they have boosted agriculture and food security by declaring a state of emergency on assumption of office and launched the National Agricultural Development Fund with N100 billion.
Additionally, initiatives like the Dry Season Farming Initiative and the Green Imperative Programmes were aimed at promoting year-round farming and provide farmers with access to modern equipment and low-interest loans, ensuring a stable food supply.
FG, ITREALMS gathered, has focused on developing renewable energy sources and enhancing the efficiency of the oil and gas sector.
“Policy directives have improved the investment climate, increased crude oil and NLNG production, and initiated significant projects like rehabilitating the Port Harcourt refinery and constructing the Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kano Gas Pipeline,” part of the Executive Summary stated, to name a few.
