A broadcast Journalist with the Voice of Nigeria (VON), Mrs Lilian Obiageli Ario, is set to launch a collection of poems titled “Petals of Life” reports ITREALMS.
Ario, an accomplished poet who also is Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), informed ITREALMS that the launch has been scheduled for July 6, 2024, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Alausa-Ikeja by 10am.
A press statement available to ITREALMS endorsed by Mrs. Ario, informed that the event is expected to attract high-profile academia, secondary school pupils and dignitaries, as well as media, noted that the highly anticipated anthology will be graced by poetry lovers and literary enthusiasts to experience her profound and evocative work firsthand.
“Petals of Life is a captivating collection that delves into the multifaceted experiences of life, love, sorrow, death, and joy,” she said, stressing that her collection is a captivating experience of life filled with figures of speech.
“My poems are rich in vivid imagery, personification, and simile, as the poems are equally woven around human emotions and experiences, making each piece a testament to my literary prowess,” she said.
Ario promised that the inspiring and thought-provoking collection challenge readers to strive for better behavior while reminding them of their roots and the paths they have traveled.
She revealed that at the event, there will be a discourse on selected poems from ‘Petals of Life,’ offering a glimpse into the heart and soul behind each verse.
This, she said, would be followed with ‘Question &Answer’ session where guests could engage the author to gain deeper insights into her creative process.
