The remains of Elder Elkanah Akindele Akinte who passed on recently at the age of 82 years, would be committed to mother-earth on Friday, October 25, 2024, according to family sources, reports ITREALMS.Elder Akinte, ITREALMS gathered, passed on at age 82 years on Thursday, September 12, after a brief illness at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idi-Araba, Lagos, would be interred at his residence in Adamo, Ikorodu.
Burial arrangement announced by the family, informed that a Christian wake would hold on Thursday, October,24 at The Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), Jesus House Zonal Headquarter,171 Agunfoye Road, Adamo, Ikorodu.
ITREALMS recalled that late Akinte attended Local Authority Primary School at Moboro Ode-Oye, Ondo State between 1948-1954,,then Methodist Secondary School, Idepe in Okitipupa, Ondo State from 1956 to 1961.
A former sales-executive at Leventis Stores Limited, Marina, Lagos between 1968-1972 where he met his wife.
In pursuits of his career, late Elder Akinte proceeded to Germany in 1970, worked in an automobile company before moving to the United Kingdom in 1972 with his wife. He furthered his education at the Tottenham Polytechnic where he studied Mechanical Engineering.
On return to Nigeria in 1980, Elder Akinte in 1981 got employed by Sterling Health products, Oshodi as a Mechanical Engineering, and retired from Sterling Product Nigeria Ltd in 1992 thereafter ventured into Estate Management Properties between 1992 to 2023.
A devoted minister of God who went through Baptismal class, workers-in-training, school of Discipleship and Bible College in Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
During his service at Tree of Righteousness Parish, Jakande Estate Isolo between 2000 to 2002, he was a sport Coordinator in RCCG, parish, Jakande Estate Oke-Afa, Isolo, Lagos, during his stay.
Before being transferred to RCCG Mount Zion Assembly Bucknor Oke-Afa, Isolo in 2003 where he planted the Parish together with the parish pastor in charge during that period, Elder Akinte was later transferred to Divine Visitation parish, RCCG, Bucknor Oke-Afa, Isolo where he served from 2007 to 2011.
He relocated from Jakande Estate Oke-Afa Isolo to Adamo-Akaun Lasungbo, Ikorodu in 2011, where he continued to serve the Lord at RCCG, Master key Parish, Adamo until 2012, before being transferred to minister at RCCG, Victory Parish, off Itoikin road, Parafa, Ikorodu.
An elder of the Governing Council of RCCG Jesus' House parish, Adamo, Ikorodu, before settling down in RCCG, Peace Assembly parish, Adamo in Ikorodu, he was also a dedicated member of the OgoOluwa Community Development Association CDA, Adamo, a pioneer member and adviser of Waksad Street Landlords Association in the same community.
He had his last earthly service at RCCG Peace Assembly, Adamo, Ikorodu on September 1, where he read the "Open Heavens" to the admiration of the congregations.
Late Elder Elkanah Akindele Akinte is survived by his loving wife, Mrs Mary Olapadabosipo Oluyomi Akinte (nee Macaulay) Children and grandchildren.
