Joint security forces rescue six media crew - ITREALMS

A joint security forces have successfully rescued the six members of the media crew who were abducted while travelling from Lagos to Uyo along Isseke-Orlu Road in Ihiala, Anambra State, reports ITREALMS.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this on Thursday, October 10, 2024 in Awka, the state capital.

"Joint security forces have successfully rescued six members of the media crew who were abducted while travelling from Lagos to Uyo along Isseke-Orlu Road in Ihiala," he said.

A press statement available to ITREALMS by SP Ikenga, also said that meanwhile, operations are still ongoing for the possible recur of the seventh crew member.

ITREALMS recalls that on Wednesday night, the news flittered into newsrooms that some seven journalists have been kidnapped on their way to Uyo at Isseke with one reportedly killed on their way to cover the Nigeria vs Libya African Cup of Nations qualifying match, scheduled at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, tomorrow the 11th of October,2024.

The purported killed is yet to be confirmed by the police.
