The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has declared a contravention, the action of the Starlink regarding tariffs in the country, reports ITREALMS.Disclosing this, the Director, Public Affairs at NCC, Mr. Reuben Muoka told ITREALMS that the Starlink, unilaterally reviewed its subscription packages upwards without approval of the Commission.
"The decision by Starlink to unilaterally review their subscription packages upwards, did not receive the approval of the Nigerian Communications Commission," he said.
According to him, the action of the company is in contravention of "Sections 108 and 111 of the Nigerian Communications Act 2003, and Starlink’s License Conditions regarding tariffs."
He also revealed that NCC has commenced pre-enforcement action on the licensee since the 3rd of October, 2024.
