The Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma has emerged the Digital Governor of the Year, according to the National Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA) organised by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), reports ITREALMS.
NCS pride itself as the umbrella organization of all information technology professionals, interest groups and stakeholders in Nigeria, whilst using the National IT Merit Awards (NITMA) is an annual event to acknowledge, celebrate and reward individuals and corporate organisations who are committed and outstanding in their various Information Technology (IT) practice and have also contributed immensely to the development of the profession in the country.
Uzodinma was joined in the list of special award winners by the Adewole Imran Salami, who emerged the Information Technology (IT) Personality of the Year; Mr. Jide Awe who came top as Tech Mentor of the Year; Mr. Olusegun H. Olugbile who came top as the Cybersecurity Advocate of the Year, while Sidmach was named the IT Company of the year at the just concluded NITMA 2024 held at the Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos.
ITREALMS recalled that this came in the wake of over 40 fellowships awarded to distinguished Nigerians cutting across professional and honourary lines, including some 39 professional fellows and seven honourary fellows.
Some of the professional fellowships awardees include Engr. Johnson Toyin Oke, Engr. Theophilus Tingir, Engr. Charles Emembolu, Mrs. Joy Onyinye Duru, Dr. Robinson Mbato, Mrs. Dije Musa Umar, Mrs. Osayimwen Bose Lilian, Mr. Oyelere Mayowa Ademola, OluwaFolakemi Etomi, Hajara Idris, Mr. Moses Babalola Ayoola, who is currently the Chief Information Officer (Retail Business) at Access Bank Plc, as well as Benjamin Zoyong Jang, Alhaji Mohammed Baba Alhassan,.

Also among the professional fellows inducted this year were Professor Victor Eshiet Ekong, Mr. Samuel Bamidele Adu, Ugochukwu Odimba, Daniel Inusa Yakmut, Aderonke Favour-Bethy Thompson, Idris Isah Sule, Dr. Daniel Matthias, Dr. Olumide Simeon Ogunnusi, Dr. Kingsley Chibuzor Aguoru, Snr, and Engr. (Dr.) Victor Korede Owa.
Equally, honourary fellowships were conferred on Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, the Di rector-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC); Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, His Royal Highness, Sir Barrister David Serena-Dokubo Spiff, Engr. (Mrs.) Ibilola Kasunmu is a Permanent Secretary in the Lagos
State Government, HRH Mohammed Hamim Nuhu Sanusi and the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, among others.
