The ECOWAS Non-State Actors (ECONSA) is gearing up for the Extraordinary Summit on the Post Malabo Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) with a preparatory online meeting on Friday, January 3, 2025, reports ITREALMS. This follows an active participation of ECONSA in the recently concluded Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme Partnership Platform (CAADP-PP) last October in Harare.
The Extraordinary Summit being organised by the African Union Commission as the Post Malabo Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) event, will be hosted by the Government of Uganda, between Thursday, 09 through Saturday,11 January 2025 at the Speke Resort Conference Centre, Kampala, Uganda.
ITREALMS gathered that the official opening session will feature high level personalities including the African Union Heads of State and Governments also known as ‘African Union Assembly.’
Also, there would be an opening statements by African Union Heads of State and Governments as well as statement by the Chairperson of the AU, and the Chairperson of the AU Commission (AUC).
ECONSA, ITREALMS gathered, participated in the just concluded CAADP PP were most of her prayers made it to the final drafted communique sent to the African Union.
According to the Assistant Secretary of ECONSA, Ms Faith Boniface, there will be a Zoom meeting on Friday, January 3, 2025 by 11am to plan for the extra-ordinary summit.
“For proper engagement and future representation, as a coalition it is necessary to put proper structures in place, hence the call for this meeting,” she said.
Members, she said, must register after which they will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
