The United States Mission to Nigeria has given a new directive with regards to immigrant visa applications, reports ITREALMS. According to the public announcement on its Twitter handle via X @UsinNigeria on Tuesday, informed that beginning from January 1, 2025, applicants must visit the Consulate General in Lagos, at least twice during the immigrant visa process.
“For applicants with interviews scheduled after January 1, 2025, you are required to visit the Consulate General in Lagos at least twice during the immigrant visa process.”
The embassy also informed that this new process was designed to help applicants prepare for their visa interview and to prevent significant delays in processing their immigrant visa.
“Kindly note that this information is specific to immigrant visa applicants only,” the public statement available to ITREALMS confirmed.
It urged applicants to seek supplementary information at Travel.State.gov on US Visas.
