The three-day Regional Development Forum for Africa Region (RDF-AFR) and Regional Preparatory Maeeting kicked off on Monday 7 April 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya, with African ministers calling for proactive collaboration in development of Information and Communication Technologies, reports ITREALMS.
This would be followed by the Regional Preparatory Meeting for WTDC-25 for Africa (RPM-AFR) from 8 to 9 April.
ITREALMS gathered that RDF-AFR is organized at the kind invitation of the Communications Authority of Kenya.
The Regional Development Forum for Africa Region provides an opportunity for an exchange of views between ITU and decision-makers of ITU Member States and Sector Members, as well as other stakeholders in the Africa region.
RDF-AFR will report on the outcomes and implementation of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-22), held in Kigali, Rwanda, in June 2022, in particular the progress made in the realization of the Regional Initiatives for Africa approved by the WTDC-22.
RDF-AFR 2025 is open to all stakeholders willing to strengthen cooperation and partnership among telecommunication/ICT policymakers, regulators, industry, academia, regional and international development agencies, and organizations on specific regional telecommunication and ICT matters.
