Thursday, April 10, 2025, was supposed to be a routine day for candidates at Winsford Comprehensive College in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos, as they sat for their JAMB Mock Exam. However, the day turned into a nightmare for many based on network related issues and lack of communication, reports ITREALMS.
Parents and candidates, ITREALMS gathered, arrived at the venue as early as 5 am, eager to get the exam underway, scheduled for 6:30 am. Despite the early start, candidates were not led into the exam hall until 7:30 am. But the troubles had only just begun.
As candidates settled into their seats, network issues plagued the examination process. Reports indicated that the network disappeared until 12 noon, bringing the exam to a grinding halt. The biometric capturing process was completed, but the JAMB server could not be found, further delaying the exam.
What made matters worse was the lack of transparency from the school authorities. Parents who attempted to record the chaos on camera were met with aggression. The school's handling of the situation left many feeling frustrated and uninformed.
As the day wore on, candidates were trapped in the exam hall without access to food or water. Parents grew increasingly anxious, and eventually, many decided to take matters into their own hands. Some forcefully retrieved their wards from the hall, fed up with the disorganization.
According to insiders familiar with the school's history as a JAMB exam center, this incident was not an isolated case. The school has reportedly experienced similar issues in the past, raising questions about its ability to host large-scale exams.
In a surprising turn of events, the exam finally began at around 4 pm for the remaining candidates. Despite the long delay, the candidates persevered, and the exam concluded at 6 pm.
Reports from other exam centers in Ikorodu suggested that Winsford Comprehensive College was not the only location plagued by issues. Several other centers experienced similar problems, casting doubt on the overall efficiency of the JAMB exam process.
